First of all we believe in God, the one who created us. We are responsible to him. He is our Judge, the Ruler of all and Saviour for all who trust in him.
We believe the Bible is God's message book telling us about what we need to know about him. It is infallible, without any errors, our authority in all matters spiritual and moral.
We believe that man was originally created perfect but then through disobeying God's command all future generations have become corrupted by evil desires.
We believe that Jesus not only existed as a man but was also God. He came with the express purpose of dealing with man's disobedience. We believe the good news that Jesus is able to forgive us all our wrong and make us acceptable in the sight of God. He did this by paying the penalty for the disobedience of all who put their faith in him and through his death on the cross paid the penalty that was due in the eyes of God our Judge.
We believe that we can do nothing to earn our way into God's good books. It is only by asking Jesus to forgive us and putting our trust in him that we can be made right in God's eyes.
We are happy to remember Charles Haddon Spurgeon and be identified with him for we are happy with the truths he taught from the Bible.
We are happy to be called evangelical for this emphasises that we are telling others the good news that all who trust in Jesus can be saved on the great judgement day that no-one can escape from.
For further details on our beliefs see the doctrinal basis of the Fellowship of Independent Evangelical Churches of which we are a member.
